Thousands of people relocate to London, Ontario each year. Some are transferred by the boss of their executive recruitment services firm, others are settling down to raise a family, but the majority of them are coming to the city to train for their careers. Why? Because London, Ontario is home to several top quality post-secondary education institutes. All types of career training are represented in the city, from university level graduate programs to skilled trades apprenticeships to art sponsorship programs. Just take a look at what the city has to offer.

The University of Western Ontario

"Western" as the university is colloquially known, is one of the most respected schools in Canada. Ranked alongside McGill and Queens, Western is considered the Canadian equivalent of an Ivy League school. The school has over 29,000 full-time students enrolled at any given time in programs that will allow them to become teachers, business moguls, class action lawyers, writers, scientists, theater professionals, computer technicians, and whatever else they can think of.

Consistently ranked among the top three schools in Canada by McLean's magazine, Western is known for both its undergraduate programs and its specialty graduate schools. The Richard Ivey School of Business is considered the best such program in the country and the most likely to put students on a career path that will have them later enjoying the benefits of the Sutton members program. Western also has three affiliate collages, all of which specialize in liberal arts with religious leanings.

Fanshawe College

This vocational training center has 55,000 students enrolled in full and part-time programs in applied art and technology. The London campus is just one of six across Ontario which prepares students for careers in everything from auto mechanics to getting a real estate licence in Ontario. Programs include tourism, business, manufacturing, IT, health, language, media studies, and design. The London branch also has two dormitories for students, which is unusual for a community college.

Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology

If you're one of those who are looking for a more unique career, like adding music to the work of a wedding videographer, Toronto isn't the only city you can go to for training. OIART offers an eleven month program that completely trains students for careers in music production and sound engineering. The school isn't big enough to have a dormitory, but the small class sizes allow students to become contemporaries with their instructors, which can help launch their careers.
